Welcome to my first practice post. I am so excited to show you all the different practices I have been doing along these past few months. The first practice that my team and I completed was about comparing LOMCE with LOE.
In this practice our brains were put to the test to find differences between LOMCE and LOE. we knew when these to came into action, but not everything about them. This practice is aimed and understanding the objectives that each one sets out so we know how one evolved from the other.
The preliminary ideas that I had about this practice where the years that LOMCE and LOE came into action and I had a rough idea about the functions and organisations of education, but this obviously doesn't mean that I knew everything. I only knew what people spoke about in the streets or at school, but nothing too in depth. I also knew about what was explained during the last few theory post, which again isn't everything. After completing this assignment I can officially say that I have learnt a lot of things about these laws.

I only knew what people spoke about in the streets or at school, but nothing too in depth. I also knew about what was explained during the last few theory post, which again isn't everything. After completing this assignment I can officially say that I have learnt a lot of things about these laws.
My classmates and I learned the various advantages and disadvantages that each law had. LOMCE had advantages such as they have many governing bodies who do their job properly. This is specified in article 2. In article 3 we found that it has introduced basic vocal training which is an advantage to those who struggle or don't want to continue after ESO. They also give the responsibility to choose the contents and the different pedagogical issues to the educational administrations, giving a bit of autonomy to each school, explained in article 6. There are many more advantages that they give us but I would also like to mention the disadvantages. In article 6 we find that they don't include objectives in their curriculum. This we believed was a disadvantage because the objectives that teachers and students have should help them to have a goal. Article 18 says that religion is compulsory, forcing children to take another subject if they don't really want to do it. And many more. We also had to say if we considered whether if LOMCE and LOE are influenced by previous laws. Finally, we had to mention the improvements we believed could be made to the current educational system. We thought we could give ever subject the importance so that they can improve on every subject equally and not just on those that come across as more important such as maths and science. We would also like to extend Secondary education by an extra year so that children have more time to do the same amount of content making it possible for less people to drop out of school. As it would then be easier to pass, we believe it is only fair that students should only be allowed to repeat once instead of twice. We learned all these things, which is amazing, you wouldn't think that one law would have so many objectives set out towards education alone. Imagine how many they have in total.
The hardest part for me to grasp was whether these two laws were influenced by its previous competitors. After some research we came to the conclusion that they were. We understood that since
1970, education in Spain has been changing, we can see it through the different educational laws that have been established during these years. Therefore, LOE and LOMCE have influences by other previous laws.
LOE is influenced by the Moyano Law and the General Law of Education of 1970 by its form of structure. The structure of the Moyano Law was divided into elementary, secondary, and higher education; and the General Law into preschool, general basic education, middle school and university education. LOE is similar to both of these previous laws because its educational structure is very alike.LOE is based on the Organic Law when it comes to the Right to Education of 1985. The reasons is that LODE wants to guarantee the right to education for everyone, achieving a basic, compulsory and free education without any kind of discrimination. Moreover, LODE regulates the participation of the educational community and controls the performance of public centres and the maintenance of state-subsidised private centres.
In 1990 LOGSE appears. This law influences the LOE due to its free and compulsory education from 6 to 16 years. It also includes the extension of complementary services like transport or gastronomic services.LOMCE is a modification of the previous law, LOE; therefore all the influences named above, also influence the LOMCE.
Having said that, we found two authors, Zyab Ibáñez and Margarita León, who explains that the both indeed come from other laws but that both of them at the same time are exactly the same. We think that this is impossible and stupid. Why on earth would you create two laws that do the exact same thing?

This information was obtained by the help of our families, and many many websites and videos. Very confusing but it is now all clear. Another part that I struggled with were the differences between LOMCE and LOE. My partner Ana and I were the ones researching the first two questions and I have to say that when we were looking for information everything got very confusing. We eventually found a website which contained a table with all actions that both of them but that also stated the differences between them. This pdf file was really extense, but if you take your time to read it you will find that it explains everything organised by years, material, subjects, objectives... A vey well structured and explained document which without we wouldn't have completed our task even though this is something we need to learn more about.
The knowledge I can generate is basically all the practice. But if I had to generate something outside of the class, it would have to be this link.
This a website that talks a little about what LOMCE is, how people see it and the possible outcomes. For example, did you know that it's the seventh-in depth reform of the education system in the Spanish democracy? None of them has been adopted by consensus. They've always had the votes against form the opposition in power. ''Education is politicized a hundred percent. There is no country in the first European order that has a s changing educational system as a function of the party that comes to power'' says Pablo García from CCOO worker union. Spanish citizenship, almost unanimously (86%), concludes that educations quality can only improve when, at once, the parties are able to reach a large and lasting agreement instead of trying to reform it, each on their own way, every time they achieve power. It even come with a little video which talks about the new law LOMCE and what happened in Bilbao.
This is something I would really like to add to the post:
This is something I would really like to add to the post:
The information we obtained helped make so much understand, even though it difficult, to understand in a more global point of view what both of these laws have to offer. I also loved the questions Gonzalo set us out to do as they really made us think in a different way. For example, he asked if whether these two laws were influenced by any previous ones, this was an exiting way to learn not just the laws we have nowadays, but also the history and changes governments made and the laws they established. It is really going to help me understand the unit much better when it come to studying. The other question that I loved was our opinion on trying to improve these laws. It wasn't just fun telling and discussing my ideas with the group but it really helped me see thing from a different perspective listening to their own opinions. All in all, a fantastic project.
